Students’ Future the Focus at “Just Like ME” Event

Just Like ME (My Experience)- Professional Speaker Series is an initiative founded by Judge Stephanie Mingo and Judge Jaiza Page. The primary focus of Just Like ME is to provide students with the opportunity to meet and converse with professionals and vocationalists they identify as relatable and as ‘just like me.' Throughout the course of each one-hour long session moderated by Judge Mingo and Judge Page, middle and high school students gain exposure to the stories and experiences of professionals and vocationalists from a broad spectrum of occupations and careers. Through this initiative students gain awareness of the unending possibilities for their future career and occupational aspirations. Learning through the experiences of others who have successfully journeyed and persevered through similar educational and socioeconomic obstacles is intended to provide middle and early high school students with education, encouragement and enthusiasm for the pursuit of their own post-high school goals.
